Art in Bucharest visited The Romanian Peasant Museum (’MTR’) for a special exhibition about Romanian traditional pottery. The artist who presented art objects made during his lifetime is Dumitru Șchiopu, one of the last pottery artisans from Vlădeștii de Vâlcea. (more…)

Into the artist’s world

What is great about visiting the artists is that each studio reveals a completely different world. We found that during our tour on 21st of January. You are outside, it’s sleet, crowded with people in a great hurry and lot of fidgety high-speed driven cars, and you finally find your refuge inside this silent and sunny universe of the artist. You are surprised because you’d never guess at the first glance what the old and somehow unappealing building hides inside. And what do you find?  (more…)

Our first artists’ tour

The studio of the artist shows a unique world built within creation. Each studio is different from another, and when you have the chance of visiting several of them in the same day, you must consider yourself privileged. We, Mircea and Simona from ‘Art In Bucharest‘, together with other nine companions, visited on 7th of January 2012 five remarkable artists: two painters and three ceramists. (more…)
